Project description:

SMARTKids is a pilot study of children who experienced harm or endangerment in childhood and their current thinking. The goal is to test a mechanistic theory of how childhood experiences of harm relate to memory, attention, reading, and thinking. Another goal is to develop best practices in working with children with stress histories in fMRI studies and to work with community partners toward the development of interventions. We will adjust brain predictive models from HEAL-ABCD to accurately model the complex characteristics of CM.
